Treasurer’s ReportPrior to this meeting the Treasurer reported a balance of £1,441.67. Amounts still to be paid out were : approx. £30 for home league match raffle prizes, and subscriptions to the SBA/SYBA (we have not yet received any documentation or renewal forms!!!!) Alan will look into this.
The Club currently has 32 paid up members, 28 adults and 4 juniors.
6 Match and Competition Committee Report
The meeting was informed of Andrew Munro’s official resignation from the CBC
committee along with his other duties. Alan has given his own name to the NBL
as club contact and Douglas will consider job sharing the post of Match Secretary with
him.
league players and the selection of Skips and League Teams had gone very
smoothly.
7 Green Keepers Report
George had nothing new to report. A vote of thanks was given to him by the
committee for the superb condition of the Green. The recent excessive rainfall has
obviously helped but the praise was aimed at the amazing amount of grass, the
reduction of bald patches and the obvious excellent cutting and aerating regime.
George was also thanked for strimming the car-park grass and banking – no mean
feat. Alan explained at this point, with the aid of our Three Year Plan, that
although more green keeping equipment is planned the Clubhouse interior
will be this year’s priority.
8 Clubhouse/Property Report
It was reported that a small amount of water is still coming in through the old roof-
tiles whenever we get heavy rain, and there has been a lot recently.
John Nightingale has been invited to comment on Alla Macdonald’s revelation that
the tiles are all Asbestos and, because of their age, very brittle – but to date we
have not had a response.
9 Junior Members Report
It is hoped that a Junior Night can begin on Fridays with the help of our other Club
Coaches, Susan and Daniel. It would be beneficial, to the youngsters bowling
development, if we could also include them in our Spoon Nights where they could
practice their new skills with the more experienced members. We are hoping to
purchase new, coloured, junior coaching bowls for the start of this winters Indoor
Bowling. Alan was pleased to announce confirmation of funding from Cromarty
Common Good Fund, The Cromarty Trust and Ross and Cromarty Sports Council.
This continuing financial support will allow us to purchase the bowls immediately.
10 Catering Report
Margaret reported that everything was going along smoothly, although she could
do with a few more bakers in the catering group.
The club will be replacing the old kitchen at the end of this season, we should be
deciding on the type of units and accessories that will be required. Measurements
will be taken and a plan drawn up.
11 Correspondence
The R&C Sports Council are updating their database and the form provided
stressed the necessity and importance of organisations having in place a sound
Children and Vulnerable Adult’s Protection Policy. Our own situation, disclosures,
and first line contacts were discussed and reaffirmed.
